My good ol' home state holds an annual craft brew competition... and this here beer done won a gold in the 2016 competition for a certain class. I can see why. It's very tasty..... smooth hop/malt and the perfect bitterness.

I am tried a 10oz pour of this beer off the tapper at the brewery. It poured a slightly hazy golden with thin white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had pine and subtle citrus peel spice notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright sweet malt base with pine resin and citrus peel spice presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

A pint can with no visible date from a recent release purchased at the brewery.
Look- Pours a nearly transparent and brilliant sparkling copper color leaving an inch of creamy white foam. Heavy lacing is left as it slowly settles.
Smell- Very floral along with some grapefruit and pine. Some malt and yeast esters emerge next.
Taste- Grapefruit, floral notes, orange zest and a touch of pine appear first. There's a slightly malty/biscuit profile in the finish.
Feel- Creamy and smooth with a crisp dry finish.
Overall- With all the new fangled IPA's and the haze craze it would be easy to hate on this beer, but it wouldn't be fair. It's a solid throwback brewed to style that was the norm not that long ago. The appearance is striking, smell a bit weak, but the taste and feel is very satisfying. It's an easy drinking 6.5% in a can that I'll be packing in my kayak.
