A new release on tap at the brewery on 09/03/16 served in their signature tulip glass.
Look- A reddish dark gold with a small finger of off white foam that settles in short order revealing some lacing.
Smell- Spicy up front with onion, floral notes and caramel malt.
Taste- Very floral to begin, opening up to grapefruit, some pine and a rye-like spice. A sticky dose of malt appears in the finish.
Feel- Oily and slick with a slight bitterness and wet finish.
Overall- A solid beer for their first attempt at the style. It leans towards the spicy/floral side of the hop spectrum with a hearty dose of malt slickness. Definitely worth a shot if you're in the region.
