Style: Kentucky Common - actually a dark cream ale -Brewed with piles of corn, a hint of caramel and dark malt, and American hops this Kentucky common is a low ABV, bready, malty, warm weather drink to enjoy on any occasion. With notes of brown bread crust, wildflower honey, & gentle sweetness, you can turn off your brain with Saloon Monsoon!

Growler fill from Abe Erb - This is described as a Kentucky common beer which was brewed exclusively in the Louisville region from the 1840s to prohibition and is/was virtually extinct until a few craft brewers revived it recently....it is in effect a dark cream ale using 20% gristed corn and warm fermentation and cold conditioning.....pours a hazed deep burnished copper color with a 3 finger off white cap that lasts and laces the glass.....aromas of rich toasted bread, somme carmel and dark roast malts, light grassy hop tones...has a medium body, soft lush silken mouthfeel and a well rounded finished character....flavor has the malts in front toasty bread crust and hints of caramel sweetness which is held in balance by enough hopping to keep it from being too sweet...goes to a long finsh where it dries up a bit and goes bitter (good attenuation) with a light hop bite at the end....a great summer sessioner or to pair with grilled steak or kabobs...this one wins my vote for best summer release of 2024
