On tap at the brewpub.Pours a hazy golden amber in the pint logo shaker. Modest cap of foam which doesn't stick around long. You are greeted with a pleasant nose of German clove and banana esters. Plenty of carbonation in the mouth.
Light body with a tasty tang. There are some Hefeweizen note which add a lot to this lighter style of wheat brew. Overall it makes for a tastier kind of American Wheat. They say it is made with a "blended yeast" which suggests that brewers with that typical anemic pale wheat might do well to add some of the German bugs to the mix. In any case, it's mellow with just enough sweet malt flavor and totally likeable.

Poured from the tap at the brewery into a pint glass, the beer appears as a typical Wheat. An opaque yellow color with the sediments of an unfiltered, there is a small white, foamy head. The beer has smells of citrus and spice on the nose, again typical of a Wheat. The taste was where it got interesting. You get an impressive banana bread experience in your mouth, with banana and spice blends in the flavor, possibly nutmeg and cloves. The flavor is very forward and present, but it dies in your mouth. There is no gentle drop-off and no aftertaste. It is a burst of flavor, with nothing following it up. The beer is good, but it was easy to lose interest in it after a while.

From the brewpub on tap.
Poured a hazy yellow-gold color with a medium thin and foamy white head. Nose is clove, banana and wheat. Tatse matches nose and it is pretty good. Mouthfeel is very nice and crisp. I enjoyed evry drop if this hefeweizen. The cloves were a nice touch.

From a beer sampler at the brewery. Poured cloudy orange with slight off-white ring of head. Fine carbonation coming up in sample glass. Decent German-style hefeweizen aroma with clove, banana, and some sweetness.
Slight bitter snap to the flavor up front (possibly from the yeast). Nice hefeweizen flavor. Subtler flavor than most German hefeweizens, but decent nonetheless. A little astringency in flavor as well.
Low carbonation seems to have deadened the flavor a bit. A bit more would probably make the flavor come alive. Medium-light body. Fairly bitter and astringent finish.
