Pours hazy amber into a pint glass with bubbly off-white lingering head, slight lacing on the glass, and visible carbonation.
On the nose is immediate sweet cream, caramel, and biscuit notes which dominates the aroma. Mellow grapefruit and lemon join eventually which gives this ale a mild yet pleasant fruit cheesecake smell without the bite. There is a slight bitterness throughout which is most noticeable in the back of the nose, but overall is very subtle.
Taste is sweet biscuit, slight floral leafiness on the sip, leading to creamy citrus - almost mellow lemon meringue pie - flavour and finishing with a slight bitterness. Nicely balanced flavours, not as bitter as the Golden Cocker, with a more sweet creamy and fruity quality. Tart citrus, mango, and biscuit hops linger giving a very pleasant aftertaste laced with mild bitterness.
There's low carbonation, and the ale is light-medium bodied with a slight oiliness to it although it's barely noticeable.
Overall a good session beer, easy to drink with good flavours, and mild. Could see this ale going well with curry or seafood.
