Had a tap of this on ZAP. Doesn't get much better than that.

Kind of a russet brown appearance. Shallow light chocolate colored head. Not much CO2 evident from viewing. Aroma is chocolate and vanilla, and bread, coffee and brown sugar. Taste is quite smooth. Is this a lager?? Not sure if they brewed it in the traditional style as the bartender did not know. But the flavor was very nice. The best brew I've had from this joint. Nice subtle coffee tones. Chocolate really comes through. Vanilla bean. A little sticky molasses. So damn smooth. Very tasty. Kudos to 1st City for joining forces with the local homebrew club to create this dandy.

Hell if I know if this name is right...of course this so called high class place has no literature on this beer or even the name scribbled on the chalkboard...this is what the guy at the bar told me..

This was brewed by the local home brew club which took over the brewing for a day....pretty good stuff...deep dark brown and a creamy tan head....sweet, malty, doppelbock nose...some sweet fruits...soy sauce like taste at first...pleseant though...mouthfeel is full and sweet but not overdone....

Overall a tasty winter treat from one of the states weakestt brewpubs...This is a beer worth stopping for unlike most of their regular offerings...Not an all-time great but very good..
