The appearance was a dark brown color with a bar pour’s kind of quick burnt white head. Lacing was barely there. The smell started off with some subtle sweet roasty nuts, leaning towards the hazelnut sort of side and then some subtle sweet cocoa beans/almost a powder like substance slides in for the balance. The taste pretty much copies the aroma nicely with a sly little dry-like/roasty edge in the aftertaste and roaming on into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation feels good all around for a brown ale. Overall, probably leans towards the English style, still good and I’m pretty sure I’d have again.
