Had it from tap. Pours a nice dark brown with great head and lacing. Subdued chocolate smell. Taste of chocolate and coffee. The chocolate flavor taste darkens as the beer warms. A bit of honey. The feel is a bit light.

A: Pours a dark ruby/brown/almost black color. A two finger dark beige head forms with some retention and light lace.
S: Roasted malts, coffee, bitter chocolate. Really sweet as well with plenty of caramel malts.
T: Roasty, coffee, bitter sweet chocolate. More sweetness from caramel like malts. An OK porter that is simple but not subtle, with a substantial alcohol presence as well.
M/D: A full body that is sticky and resinous, a little to much so. At almost 8% this is pretty big and I can feel it. This becomes pretty tiring after a while and I am looking for something else quickly.
Big and sweet for just a regular porter, which can have its place. Just not a lot of nuance here, and something I tire of quickly.
