A: Pours a near opaque black color. A two finger tan head forms with good retention. Plenty of lace is left behind.
S: A simple nose, with roast, chocolate, and char. All coming from the malts. I really like it.
T: Like the nose, lots of roast up front. Bakers chocolate, a bit of char and molasses even. There is more of a milky sweetness to help balance that out. With just enough of a lingering bitterness from the roast. Well done.
M/O: A medium to full body. Good carbonation, that is also very smooth drinking. This is easy to put away, and something I really enjoyed. Very good.
I think this is a good no frills example of a Milk Stout. The way the style should really be, without overbearing alcohol and flavor additives. Simple, well made, and something I will look for again.
