A: Pours a clear, but darker reddish/orange color. A dense white head forms with retention and lacing for days. As I say, this is a looker.
S: Bright citrus and pine. Plenty of malts, that gives this a hefty bready character. While a bit simplistic, the hops are still the show.
T: Again, that citrus and pine up front that is definitely resiny. There is a sticky sweetness, with bready/caramel malts. A lingering bitterness is nice.
M/O: A full body with moderate carbonation. This is sticky, chewy, and resin/oily like. The alcohol is noticeable, but enjoyable, and more of a warming sipper in that regard.
While not breaking the mold for an Imperial IPA, and a bit simplistic. It covers all the bases, and is just enjoyable in that regard. Especially if you are looking for a big sipper.

Serving: 16 oz can (stamped “pace yrslf 05/14/20”) poured into a 9 oz Libbey Embassy snifter. Picked up at the brewery 22-May-20.
Appearance: Pours a bright, clear golden amber with a solid head of offsite foam and streaky lacing.
Smell: Pine needles, resin, citrus zest and caramel malt.
Taste: Good malty base with plenty of caramel that carries a punch of piney resinous hops. A little alcoholic heat in the finish to remind you that it means business.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with a slightly oily feel and moderate carbonation.
Overall: A smooth, balanced but potent IPA that goes old school rather than hazy. Feels a bit like a “110” minute IPA.
