Saharan Dust IPA is loaded with experimental hop HBC472, a neomexicanus strain that boasts coconut, tropical fruit, and slight barrel notes. In this presentation, it exudes tropical fruit, followed by subtler coconut and wood notes. A dry, crisp finish and low bitterness make this beer one we are happy to drink on the hottest of summer days.

A: Pours a clear golden/orange color. A one finger white head forms with good retention. Lace left behind as well.
S: Big aromatic hops up front. With a tropical fruity citrus character. There is a weird cotton candy like sweetness...
T: Follows the nose with lots of that tropical fruity character. Citrus and orange peal, even "juicy" and then I get a candy like sweetness lingering. Which, I wish was more bitterness, but there you have it.
M/O: A medium body with moderate carbonation. There is a sticky, sweet, slickness here that I'm not the biggest fan of. Saying all that, it is not hard to drink. If not my preferred IPA.
Given the name...Saharan Dust is usually what keeps hurricanes away from Houston...so I was expecting something a bit drier. There is really nothing wrong here, outside of my own personal preference. Wanting something with more bitter dryness. Its still fine for what it is...a new age/modern IPA with plenty of fruity/juicy character if t hat is what you want.

Picked up a four pack of this beer at the brewery. Just got the beer to go, next time I will hang out to have a couple drafts.
Anyway, I poured this from a can into a tulip glass. Fairly clear bright yellow color with nice fluffy white head and good curtain lacing. Sweet fruity smell and taste. Orange, lime and a bit of sugar candy. An unusual but enjoyable IPA!
