Exotica: The Expedition

Each iteration of Exotica is focused on a different Tiki-style cocktail, and each iteration is built from the ground up to embody the characteristics of its namesake. For this edition, we chose a the coffee based cocktail "The Expedition". A base of oats and wheat with tropical HBC472 hops provides the foundation for a lime and pineapple. We then add sweet Barbados molasses to add a rum character, and then vanilla, hone, oak, and Vietnamese cinnamon. Finally, we paired up with our friends over at XELA Coffee Roasters to select a bean that will compliment the tropical flavors perfectly. It all comes together in a fantastic multi-layering of flavor that transports you straight to the tiki bar.
