I had this beer on tap in a dimpled mug at the brewery. They have a side-pour there and I ordered a šnyt pour for extra foam!
Appearance: dark brown hue with a massive head of creamy tan foam leaving a good lace on the glass. Just the fact that they offer a šnyt pour is amazing, and let me tell you, it looks great.
Smell: yeasty aroma with some dry roastiness and a nice malty character. I dig it.
Taste: slightly sweet malt with a nice caramel character as well as some almost-chocolatey toffee flavor. It’s really, really good.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a well-integrated carbonation and a very smooth, lovely creaminess. Outstanding.
Overall: this is simply an outstanding beer. One of, if not the, best Czech dark lagers I’ve had.

I had this lovely beer at the brewery this past weekend.
Poured from draft into a glass stein. This was called a Hladinka pour, 500 ml poi’s lowly to get a thick, rich foam, and it is. Beautiful 1.5 inches creamy, foam head atop a dark brown body, outstanding head and lacing throughout. Earthy pumpernickel toast smell and taste. Rustic bitterness with a full rich feel. Really and excellent beer.
My reward beer for supporting this weekend’s dance competition!
