On-tap at Calusa Brewing, Sarasota, FL
A: The beer is clear but dark brownish red in color. It poured with a short beige head that died down, leaving a ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Sweet aromas of candi sugars are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell but isn’t as sweet as I would have expected as there are also notes of cherries and dark fruits such as plums.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer drinks quite well as any traces of alcohol are well hidden—the only clue you get from the strength of this beer is from the candi sugars. It just seems to be a little light in body for the style and is more like a dubbel.
