Calusa Brewing

Currently on vacation in Sarasota, Florida. Having this beer on tap at the brewery. This beer draws a clear, light to medium golden color with a nice white head that’s about an inch thick when first drawn and served. Head eventually settles to a medium sized ring lining the inside of the glass at the beer’s surface. Not much lacing at all to speak of here. Aromas of some bready, slightly zesty malts and some floral, grassy, slightly fruity hops. The flavor profile is very similar, with zesty, bready malts and some floral, or more, grass, slightly for me pops that provide just the right amount of bitterness. A very well balanced, yet simple flavor profile. A very refreshing beer in this hot Florida weather. Has a slightly crisp, light to medium bodied mouth feel with light to moderate carbonation. Has a very clean finish. A very enjoyable beer all around.

On tap at Calusa. I tried this German pilsner and the Czech pilsner (Legacy Trail). This was the lesser beer. Not a lot of bite, a little thin, and an off-taste. Might be exactly what a Bud drinker wants, though.
