There's very few hop varieties that can carry the hoppy load all by itself. The Mosaic hop is one of but a handful. And in the capable hands of Calusa brewers, this unique and complex hop sees greater heights.
Pouring a glowing golden orange and crowned with a creamy, cottony meringue froth, Velvet Alley paves the way for a bright, bold and herbal potpourri that centers around citrus, tropical, berry, green and grassy fragrances. An undercoat of malt provides a sweeter honey, agave, shortbread sweetness on the tongue in an early cereal display.
As the flavors wash the middle palate, the malt starches and sweetness are ushered away by a sense of tanginess and brisk carbonation, awaiting an abrupt Mosiac hop dominance. Lime, blackcurrant, passionfruit and gooseberry nuances align in a unique hop display, that develops into a even more curious final frame of peppery bitterness akin to black tea, sassafras, cannabis and flat-leaf parsley.
Full bodied but still with a remarkable sense of palatability, Velvet Alley finishes malty-dry and with a juicy refreshment with a smooth but piquant bitterness. A medium long aftertaste of gin-like botanicals with a fresh sprucy edge ensures that this is a complete, complex and complementary session for that coveted Mosaic hop.

Fantastic and delectable, this is one of Calusa's finest hazy offerings - and that's really saying something. Super cloudy, intensely atomatic, and loaded with wonderful Mosaic flavor.
