Refreshingly simple, with a gentle bitterness and a clean finish. Simple, refreshing and inviting, with understated hop flavours, it’s sunny style perfectly reflects the origins of its New Zealand-bred hops.

A 330ml bottle with a BB of Nov 2017. Given to me a while back by my brother. The label describes it as refreshingly simple.
A: Poured into a tulip. Bottle conditioned. A golden-amber colour with faint haze and light carbonation. Yields a smallish head of frothy white foam that lasts for a moment or so before collapsing and dissipating.
S: Aroma of grainy malt with hints of barley sugar, mild fruity hops, subtle grass/hay and earthy yeast. Pleasantly understated.
T: Tastes of grainy malt with notes of barley sugar, subtle fruity hops, mild grass/hay, leafiness, earthy yeast and a twinge of stewed husks. Slightly sweet, followed by a subdued hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with soft carbonation and good body for the strength. Aftertaste of grainy malt, leafy hops and earthy yeast.
O: A solid pale ale with a nicely balanced character. Looks OK - shame about the head. Aroma and flavour are decidedly grainy with mild aroma hops and a subtle bitterness. Good body. Goes down readily enough; would be a decent everyday beer. Worth sampling.
