A: Pours a clear but almost opaque dark mahogany brown in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate dark coal brown + garnet red + dark golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall fizzy sudsy foamy tan head that reduces to a medium sized patch of medium thick film covering a little more than 30% of the surface of the beer surrounded by a large patch of mottled very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of roasted + toasted + bready + caramel malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel sweetness. Very light aromas of earthy hops. Light aromas of lager yeast.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of roasted + toasted + bready + caramel malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by light flavors of lager yeast. Finally there is a very light flavor of earthy hops. Light amount of roasty bitterness which does not linger.
M: Light bodied with slightly heavier than moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp with a relatively clean finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a very pleasantly light mouthfeel. Enjoyable with a lot of depth/complexity to the malt flavors without too much sweetness or fuller mouthfeel. I could easily have a couple of these even on a hot NC summer afternoon.
