I was to be in Silverton for only about 27 hours, starting with lunch the first day. What a fortunate choice of this restaurant/brewery because I fell in love with their beers. They have a couple of them which are vastly superior: their Whoop Arse Scottish Ale and the Drill Steel Stout. Those beers were so good I came back for dinner and then the next day for a few pints and to pick up seven(!) growlers to take back home.
The staff is really friendly and helpful and I have no complaints with their food (typical American bar menu including salads, pizza and paninis, but only a few or no fried items) although I cannot remember what I had!

Seldom do I neglect to stop into Golden Block Brewery when I find myself in Silverton. With a classic mountain town feel, great food, good beers, and an awesome staff it's hard not to like. I highly recommend the panini sandwiches for lunch and would consider their Whoop Arse Scottish Ale to be one of the best.
