History in a glass! The one that started it all for the Walter family. This pre-prohibition, 1800's German pilsner recipe is the beer that made the Walter family famous. it is a golden lager that is well balanced in its use of hops and choice of ingredients--it is full-bodied and delicious.

Recently had the pleasure of trying Walter's for the first time on a whim, and I loved it! It's very smooth, almost creamy. I get the impression of drinking a cream soda almost, not sweet but still a fun malt taste that lingers on the back.

Coors Banquet definitely has nothing on Walter's. I'm not saying it's my favorite beer of all time, but I would go out of my way to get it over settling for Coors.

It tastes exactly like you think that it would: like a little better quality American macrobrewed pilsner. The recipe has been around for over 100 years. It will definitely please anyone that is a fan of its style, but to meet this drinking need Coors Banquet is better.

Glad happy to finally be able to get to try this historic Pueblo, Colorado staple and I'm happy glad I get to now, since I never got to imbibe in this brew way back in '75. It's what I'd say is, a really great beer to fill in a few conversations with. It also has a pretty nice, tight after taste that lingers on for the next one. Recommended. Try some.
BTW, the ABV on this can states 4.8%.

Pours a dark copper with a translucent transparency. Head is a finger and a half of dense white foam, which retains well. Aroma is grassy, spicy hops with nutty, biscuity malt behind. Balance leans lightly malty, but just barely. Flavor profile is grassy, zesty, and spicy hops with lemongrass as an addition. Malts come in at the midpoint, hitting notes of biscuity, bready, and nutty. It's smooth. Mouth feel has a low effervescence level, resulting in smooth sips and gulps, but lacking the refreshing fizz of a summertime lager. Overall, balanced with a tender focus on the objective - a new frills lager for crushing after work or in the company of friends.

Served in a 16oz Speigalu tulip from a 12oz can.
