Copenhagen 22/11 2019. 33 cl bottle from Voldby Købmandsgaard (Web-shop). Simple purple label with the insignia of the two involved breweries and the information that the beer is barrel aged with Jack Daniels (very Rock'N'Roll).
Pours opaque, dark brown with a small dark beige head. Settles as a thin patch of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Clinging to the side of the glass. No lacing.
Aroma is intense, sweet with a bitter edge and with a notable alcoholic whiff. Sharp licorice, brown sugar, molasses, bitter dark chocolate, hints of peat and smoke. A bit boozy.
Light carbonation. Fat, thick, viscous, smooth, soft texture.
Flavor is heavy sweet followed by a medium strong licorice bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet. Lingering. Light boozy burn.
A quite well-balanced Imperial Stout with a prominent punch. Good one.

33cl bottle. Pitch black pour, thick and viscous, with a medium-height espresso-coloured head. Smells of roasted malts, dark cherries, smoke and peat, milk coffee and caramel. The taste is well balanced between bitter and sweet, with notes of milk chocolate, coffee, smoke, roasted malts, dark cherries and cocoa. A very promising beer, made me very curious about the barrel aged versions.
