Copenhagen 22/5 2016. 33 cl bottle from Irma, Smedetoften, Kbh. NV. Black label with something that looks like light effects from the 1960s.
Pours opaque dark brown with a light beige head. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam. Moderate lacing.
Intense aroma of roasted malts, coffee, bittersweet dark chocolate and a little alcohol.
Soft carbonation and thick creamy slightly sticky palate.
Flavor is quite well balanced despite the abundance of sweetness. A good coffee bitterness provides the necessary counterweight not to make this brew nauseating.
Nice porter. I would not drink it out of thirst. But with the fairly high ABV and very distinct presence of coffee you could argue that this makes a coffee and a cognac after dinner redundant.

Sep. 2015: 330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. BB date 02.07.2014. ABV is 10,0%. Black colour, moderate tan head. Strong aroma of roast malts, coffee and vanilla (no surprise), also chocolate and some caramel. Medium sweet and roasty flavour with coffee in the driver’s seat, also plenty of chocolate, vanilla and caramel. A nice dessert beer.

Black color with a thick thin caramel head with medium retention.
Aroma with notes of vanilla, roasted coffee beans and some dark chocolate.
Flavor with notes of dark chocolate, some booze, charcoal, a bit of spices, caramels, homemade coffee, clear vanilla and some tobacco. Dry aftertaste with a medium bitterness and lasting roasted notes.
Medium velvety body with appropriate carbonation of tiny bubbles. Alcohol of 10% is felt in the beginning but it is relatively well disguised considering this is a Porter.
Potent Imperial Porter that delivers the promised vanilla and coffee. No big thrills, but still decent with medium complexity.

At Guevara & Lynch. At lunch with Miguel. Waiting for the food. Very easy to drink and pleasant to the taste and mouth. Very dangerous because of its high ABV

Bottle from Santa, thanks for the opportunity!
Nice vanilla on the nose with bits of chocolate and some faint coffee. A bit more creamed coffee flavor with bits of chocolate and caramel with a creamy silky mouthfeel and a lingering roasty finish. Very nice brew!

330ml bottle best before 04.08.16
A - Pitch black with rosewood edges with a mild camel cap that recedes fairly promptly
S - Liquorice, vanilla, woody, warming alcohol
T - Warming alcohol and COFFEEEEEEEE!!! Yum.
M - Thin for style, especially toward the end as bitter coffee takes hold
O - There's some good things going on, but it's just not full bodied and satisfying enough and ends up being unbalanced.
