Brewed with spruce needles and juniper berries. A crisp white IPA with hoppy notes and a resinous citrus kick.

330 ml at the Amsterdam airport bar The ale poured a clear gold color with a white foamy head and lacing—the aroma of spruce and pine needles. The flavors were more pine resin and some pale malts. There were hints of citrus. the ale has a medium body and average carbonation.

Lacing lasted the entire glassful hazy yellow with not much smell but the taste of juniper and spruce was strong. Different and interesting.

Bought a lot of unknown bottles from the bargain bin at Albert Heijn in Ostend.
Served in the usual tumbler. Expires July 2021, so now is the time.

Golden coloured with a slight orange hew.
Decent white head. Collapsed quickly. Left a bit of lacing.
Scent is sweet, fruits and a bit sour, like pineapple. Other tropical fruits too: passion fruit, papaya but also strawberry and peach. With heffe weizen and cereal malts. I want to say I can smell the spruce, but wonder if I just want to?
Taste is much more blend then I expected. Watered down pineapple and strawberry. Hoppy bitterness clearly present. Some pepper as well. The earthy flavour of the spruce dominates the background and becomes more dominant in the aftertaste.
The fruit turns into grapefruit in the aftertaste and the pepper persists.

It's a good and creative beer, but somehow I expected more from reading the label.

12oz bottle, no bottling date, just an "expiration" over a year away. Would assume this is somewhat fresh since it's a winter seasonal.

In a chalice. A pretty aggressive pour yields a half finger of white head that quickly disappears entirely. Initial lacing looks ok. Body is a somewhat hazy orange. Looks ok so far I guess.

Nose smells oxidized. Stale grain. Sweet. Maybe a touch of citrus. No juniper. Certainly not the right glassware, as I'm having a hard time getting much of a big aroma out of this wide glass. On some sniffs it still smells like beer, not oxidized, but overall sub par for sure.

Flavor hits like it’s straight out of Eugene, OR or Chico CA, tastes like I'm drinking hemp. Certainly more the spruce tips I'm picking up on than any juniper. Extremely herbal, a little too much personally. Slightly oxidized, but not nearly as bad as the nose. Not a lot of hop flavor, malts are pretty generic too. Kinda hard to grade here because the flavor isn't bad, but it doesn't taste too much like beer, and either way it's too herbal for me.

Mouthfeel is perfectly fine here. Somewhat dry. Carbonation is about medium. Body is on the lighter side, but the carbonation adds a fuller feel than it could have. Bitterness is relatively low for an IPA. Overall pretty decent, carbonation may be a touch high, but it’s fine.

Drinkability is fine for the most part. Not extremely tasty, but not crazy offensive or anything.

Appearance turned out somewhat poor. Zero lacing. Doesn't look flat with the residual bubbles on top of the body, and it isn't; still, not checking off any boxes for appearance.

Overall sub par here, but not awful. The flavor is fine but not my cup of tea, no pun intended.

Look: golden yellow, generous head, slightly hazy.
Smell: Besides the spruce and juniper used, wheat and tropical fruit.
Taste: Quite a lot going on. Wheat tartness is clearly there along with some basic unidentified maltiness. Hops flavour are bitter but towards tropical fruit and melon. The spruce and juniper are slightly less prevalent than in the nose, but definitely there.
Feel: medium bodied, rather high carbonation (prickly). No alcohol burn whatsoever.
Overall: a really interesting experiment. It doesn't feel particularly winter-y to me but I'm happy to drink it on a windy night in Amsterdam.

Look: Cloudy, pale gold, fluffy white head.

Smell: I can definitely smell the advertised spruce and juniper, along with hops and hints of citrus. Hints of crackers in there too.

Taste: More bready in the mouth. More of the spruce and resin comes back after swallowing, leaving a crisp, pleasantly bitter aftertaste. I like that it's a unique flavor, but I wish the flavors were more bold.

Feel: Medium-full body, normal carbonation. Doesn't leave much in the way of mouthfeel after swallowing.
