650ml bottle - a wheat ale hopped with the Sorachi Ace varietal, which sounds good to me!

This beer pours a slightly hazy, medium golden yellow colour, with three chubby fingers of puffy, rocky, and somewhat bubbly eggshell white head, which leaves some decent wafting smokescreen lace around the glass as it lazily sinks out of sight.

It smells of ripe lemons, gritty and grainy cereal malt, a lesser crackery wheatiness, subtle earthy yeast, a hint of fresh dill, and some plain leafy, weedy, and herbal green hop bitters. The taste is grainy and bready pale malt, wet Wheat Thins, some mixed domestic citrus rind, well-diluted pickle juice, and more understated earthy, musty, and herbal verdant hoppiness.

The carbonation is adequate in its palate-supporting frothiness, the body a lean middleweight, and generally smooth, with nothing really sticking its nose where it's not wanted here. It finishes trending dry, the crackery malt and fading citrus esters presiding.

Overall - the vegetal and citrusy elements of this particular hop work well enough with a light, crisp wheat ale, such as we see in this iteration of Democracy! Too bad that the circus running south of the 49th can't take a cue from this offering, and its true democratic nature.
