Found in a Moscow kiosk, the bottle is standard German half liter brown with a white, red and gold label featuring an idyllic scene of a traditional German village fronted by trees, a field and a flock of swans entering the river. Purity law applies, of course. Brewed and bottled for "Germany International Beverages, Ltd." Best before 4/12/06, I opened it on 8/13/05.
Pours either dark yellow or pale orange and very cloudy under a lovely 2.5 finger white head with great retention. The foam is a bit watery, however, unable to generate much lacing. The nose is full of apricot and coriander - yummmm! The mouth is very prickly and somewhat sticky. Nice wheat taste: malt, fruit and spice. No hops. The spice lingers longest into the aftertaste, although a bit weaker than it could or should be. Still a fine brew.
