Thanks Russ.
This was poured into an English pint glass.
The appearance was a semi-thick dark brown close to black color with a nice looking eggshell white foamy head. Dissolved in less than a minute to leave some messy lace.
The aroma had a nice blend of roasty sweet coffee beans, delicate roasty bittersweet dark chocolate, light touch of milk chocolate and evened out with some clean caramel/toffee malts.
The flavor pleased my tastebuds with a keen sweetness combining the roastiness to the sweetness and delving into the bitterness just the way I want a normal porter. Light aftertaste of roast and a slight bit dark chocolate partaking.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied perhaps just a touch under and having a good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt on par.
Overall, exactly the kind of beer I'm looking for this time of year. This no frills American styled porter will please all you dark beer lovers.

I presume this Natural State Porter is the same based on the verbage on the bottle label. Above average head retention & lacing
Pours an effervescent mahogany with 2 fingers of tan head.
S: Roasyness, faint licorice
T: Follows the nose, dry as well, just a little roastyness up front. More roastyness/dryness as this warms, a little raisin. fig & charred grain too. Finishes roasty, dry with a little charred grain
MF: Medium body, restrained carbonation
A rock-solid porter, well worth a try
