12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy and cloudy glowing auburn with a fluffy light tan head that falls leaving great retention and very sticky lacing. The aromas are subtle with some dark fruits. Sweet malts are there. Lots of grains along with some bread. Some mild yeast notes are in the mix. The flavors are clean and on the bitter side. Lots of grains and dark fruits. Raisin and plum are there. Some black cherries are present. Chocolate notes are there. Malts do their thing. The yeasts are there but subtle. It finishes with a subtle warmth, but the alcohol is hidden for the most part. Mouthfeel is nice. It's on the lighter side of full-bodied with active carbonation. It's very fluffy and slightly creamy. It's smooth, but makes for a nice sipper.
This is an alright BDSA. It's a little rough around the edges and doesn't quite match up with the examples from overseas, but it's not bad.
