A Red Ale brewed in the Irish tradition with UK malts providing a light, toasted caramel profile and finished with a healthy amount of American hops for a fresh, moderately citrus aroma. Keep this one handy for the rowdiest family reunions and sports parties.

12 ounce can into pint glass, no can dating. Pours slightly hazy orange/amber/light copper color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, orange, pear, apple, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, light nuttiness/pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt; light-moderate fruity yeast, and citrus/earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, orange, pear, apple, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, light nuttiness/pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Lingering notes of lemon, orange, pear, apple, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, light nuttiness/pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt; light-moderate fruity yeast, and citrus/earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance; and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 5.5%. Overall this is a very good Irish red ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt; light-moderate fruity yeast, and citrus/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Just a touch on the yeasty side, but not overwhelming. Nicely clean English malt character, solid earthy hop presence, and restrained yeast fruitiness. A very enjoyable offering, and nice style example.

From the 12 oz can in a snifter via Buehlers in Wooster Ohio. This decent red pours
a red tinged brownish amber color with a fantastic head of long lasting white foam
that is thick and shows sudsy lacing. Nose of caramel malts and moderate spicy hop
notes with a touch of citrus. Flavors exceed the nose with lightly toasted malts and caramel
malts mingling nicely with a spicy herbal hop note that has touches of pine and light citrus
notes. Decent mouth feel; medium high carbonation, medium light body, and a nice lightly
hoppy finish.
Overall it is good but not stellar and would be more than fine for a BBQ or after mowing the
lawn----which I just did.
Cheers
