Canned on 5/8/19. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy, cloudy and murky dark pink; fluffy white head that falls leaving great retention and sticky lacing. The color is similar to grapefruit juice. The aromas are malt forward along with some hints of citrus. Some toffee and caramel in the mix. The flavors basically follow the nose for the most part. Some pink grapefruit and orange leading the way. Some toffee. It's sweet and slightly tart, but quickly becomes balanced as you get into it. Moderate to low bitterness. Strong malt backbone. Finishes juicy. Alcohol basically goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is nice. It's on the fuller side of medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's very fluffy, slightly creamy, smooth and easy to drink.
This is an interesting brew. It's definitely unique. It starts off rough around the edges, but everything eventually comes together. At first I didn't think I was going to like this one, but it actually ended up becoming enjoyable. I don't love it, but it's not bad. It's pretty refreshing and fun to drink. I really appreciate how unique and different it is for the style.
