On tap at Cleveland Oktoberfest in Berea, OH.

This one pours a light orange-ish color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like pale malts, breadiness, and grassy hops.

This is a fairly solid and un-flashy take on the style. There's a nice malt sweetness, very little hop character, and a nice crisp finish on this one.

This is light bodied, very drinkable, and very crisp. It feels well put together, if slightly unexciting.

This is well-brewed, and feels pretty much to style. I definitely enjoyed it.

L: Toffee colored. Mostly hazy. Not much head but an adequate carbon stream.

S: Tangy and sweet. Malt forward on the nose. Roasty which is expected from the color.

T: Very bitter and hop forward on the tongue. They're mild hops but there's alot of them. The hops are strong enough that I can't define the malt profile.

F: Oily hops leave a bitter aftertaste.

O: One of the better Octoberfests I've had this season.

Canned on 8/19/19. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a burnt golden with solid clarity; small white head that quickly fades leaving okay retention and little lacing. The aromas have some caramel and toffee along with some toast. Some crackers. Malts are there. The flavors basically follow the nose. More caramel and toffee. More burnt toast. Subtle hints of cherry. There's a mild and subtle spiciness going on. This is on the more bitter side for the style. Malts do their thing without completely dominating. Finishes dry. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is nice. It's on the fuller side of light-bodied with active carbonation. It's sharp, crisp, smooth and easy to drink.

This is a pretty solid Oktoberfest. It's a clean brew. It's enjoyable and well crafted. I like it.

i didnt know much about these guys before a couple of recent cans my parents picked up in their travels, but i was super impressed with the coffee red, and this is darn good as well, a lighter take on the style, paler and crisper than many, but right on point for all day drinking, a malty beer thats also sessionable is rare, yet here we are, a really clean and professional lagering on it too, who are these guys? they are killing it! cool they used local malts in this, not enough of that in craft beer right now. the color is not as orange and rusty as i am used to in a marzen, more deep honey to brass, great carbonation. its biscuity in flavor, fully grain driven but with a nice bready layer from the lager yeast too, mostly at the end. light nuttiness, a dried floral element, even lightly wheaty to me, earthy and right for the fall. the crispness makes it for me, usually these finish a little sweet, but not here, a light bittering hop and then gone, dry as they come in this style, some flavor from the yeast too is appreciated. overall this is oddly refreshing for what it is, crushable right from the can, i wish i had a few more of these to drink on! stoked on sibling revelry right now, i will be on the hunt for more of their beers!

12oz can, packaged 08/13/18. Thanks to my friend, Derek, for hooking me up with a can to try. Slightly chill hazed golden colored bier with a frothy off-white head. Malty aroma with spicy German hops; some light caramel and grain. Flavors are not typical of the style with notes of nutty & biscuity grain, grassy, spicy, and herbal hops. Light-to-medium body, ample carbonation, finishes more bitter than it needs to be. This was a big miss for me. Seemed more like a pilsner than an Oktoberfest/Märzen.

I got a six pack of this from the beer store just around the corner. It poured a clear golden with thin white head that is not leaving any lace. The scent was grainy. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a solid beer.

12oz can poured into a pint glass
A: Light orange with a nearly 2-finger head that slowly settles
S: Tons of malt/roasted grain, just a hint of hops
T: Matches the nose except lighter
M: Light-bodied, smooth
O: I love that this uses locally roasted malts. Overall a decent example of the style that highlights the ingredients
