16oz can
Pours a pretty hefty two fingers of somewhat soapy off white head into my willi becher. Retention is pretty good, still having half a finger or so after 5 minutes. Initial lacing looks great as well. Body is a burnt golden orange. Clarity is high. Quite a few bubbles coming up. Other than the soapy head this looks really nice.
Some bready malt, honey, crisp citrus, floral. Malts create a pretty soft, creamy tone. A tiny bit of dms, not unwelcome though, it actually compliments the feel. Pretty nice here, subtle, but smells smooth and inviting.
Flavor is pretty safe. Not any bread, a touch of honey. Dms is just barely noticeable. Hops don’t show up until way into the finish when you get a touch of citrus, maybe a touch of onion. This is fine, but something just a little but more flavorful would be preferred. Certainly geared towards a sessionable crowd.
Mouthfeel is fine, but not what I was expecting. Not really creamy like the nose suggested, it has a drier, crisper feel. Body is on the lighter side, but drinks a little heavier than it is. Bitterness is very low. Carbonation is just a touch below medium. Goes in tandem with the sessionable flavor.
Drinkability is good, no problem there.
Appearance turned out pretty nice, good lacing.
Overall a nice idea, it has its moments, but it doesn’t come together all too perfectly, and there are a small amount of off flavors.
To note, it taste’s much better and fuller out of the can.
