Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 9/14/25.
Appearance: dark brown hue with a body that appears pretty haze-free when held up to the light. Head is a finger of frothy tan foam, but it doesn’t stick around too long. Looks a lot like a kvass.
Smell: plenty of caramel aroma, along with a hint of roastiness. It’s not too bad.
Taste: the malt is quite caramelly in the flavor as well, but there are some light notes of chocolate in there too. I like it, but there’s some astringency as well, which doesn’t entirely work for me.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a big carbonation and a decent creaminess.
Overall: a decent, if unexceptional, take on a Czech dark lager.

16oz can
Pours a finger of light brown head into a curved pub glass. I can immediately hear it fizzing, and it fades pretty quickly. Initial lacing looks very questionable. Body is pitch black. Looks sub par so far.
Nose is roasted malt, a little chocolate. Not extremely sweet, but surprisingly sweet for the style. Doesn’t smells cloying, but definitely “wet” and not dry at all. Smells quite good, very inviting.
Flavor is primarily roasted malt, a hint of chocolate. Very nice.
Mouthfeel is definitely drier than the nose seemed, a small sweetness remains. Carbonation is on the higher side, has a little bit of a mineral quality. Body is pretty light. Bitterness is quite low, but present. Pretty solid mouthfeel, to style.
Drinkability is not an issue, this is light and tasty.
Appearance turned out poor, zero lacing.
Overall a very solid black lager, straight forward, no complaints.
