Look: Pours a cloudy medium orange with a dense off-white head that slowly puckers away and ends as a pillow
Aroma: Clove, wheat bread, banana, wheat malt, light bubblegum, and yeast
Taste: Opens up with layers upon layers of bready wheat that comes off as warm bread, freshly baked bread, and some dough, and these all develop depth quickly. Yeast and it’s phenolic parts of clove, banana, and bubblegum dance around throughout and go back and forth with wheat through the close
Mouthfeel: Full, soft, smooth, medium-high carbonation, and soft and smooth on the finish
Overall: I dig it. I’ve always thought these folks fly under the radar and love wheat beers so gave this a go and it’s a winner. A tasty American-made Hefe with plenty of yeast character that is hitting the spot right now

16oz can
Obvious pressure in the can, and it pours a massive 4 fingers of fluffy white head into my Willi glass. Retention is about average, and it steadily fades down to a finger within a couple minutes. Initial lacing looks ok. Body is a hazy straw yellow. For a Hef, it looks alright so far.
A good amount of sulfur hits you at first. Luckily that is quickly dominated by a massive amount of banana; bubblegum, and a little bit of malt as well. Not sure I want THIS much banana in a Hef, it’s not exactly balanced; but if I’m not being overly picky, it smells pretty good. Big aroma, quite nice, albeit imperfect.
Flavor is much more balanced and down to earth. Clove actually takes center stage, with some distinct banana hitting towards the finish, not much bubblegum, no sulfur. This is very nice, but while that banana is softer, it still comes across almost artificial. I dig this, but again, imperfect.
Not sure if this can got thrashed around the delivery truck or something, but the carbonation is a little on the low end, though it is holding in there. Body is medium, it has a good weight to it. Those esters give off a pretty sweet character, but this finishes slightly dry. Bitterness is very low and only shows up for a nano second in the finish. The carbonation isn’t audacious, and this mouthfeel is pretty nice overall.
Drinkability is very nice.
Appearance turned out poor. The head wasn’t anything special, and the lacing was nonexistent.
Overall a solid Hef. A little rough around the edges with the initial sulfur nose, banana, and carbonation, but good none the less. If you want a big banana Hef, look no further.
