Our flagship pale ale carries a bright, clean body, with stone fruit and ripe citrus flavors from heavy late addition hopping.

Very light in color and taste for a pale ale. Much better as a summer ale.

Piney, and only vaguely fruity west coast-ish pale ale. One of the better things regularly available in a nearby gas station in my neck of the woods. Would get any time.

Lone Pine Brewing Co. "Portland Pale Ale"
16 fl. oz. can, "CANNED ON: 10/18/22" and sampled on 07/15/23
$3.99 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: A rough pour has brought up more than a thumb's width of just slighty off-white foam atop a lightly hazy golden body. The aroma is sweetish, bready, and citrusy with orange, lemon, and grapefruit. There's also some apricot and a touch of spice and dried herbs. The flavor unsurprisingly follows quite closely. The malt remains sweetish and bready, almost doughy as well. The citrus is soft but I'm still finding the orange, lemon, and grapefruit. There's a lot more to it, however, than the aroma lets on. The apricot remains, and there's some peach, but it's the other notes that are more complicated. I'm not sure what the dried herbs might be but I'm thinking oregano and sage. There's also a bit of cannabis, dull dried pine needles, and an almost licorice note that livens it. It's subtly spicy and earthy with star anise, cinnamon, and white pepper. That part of the beer is what I'm finding most interesting, and it lingers in the finish. It's not that bitter but there's enough that it doesn't become like one of the sweeter NEIPA's. The head has held up well, and although it's dropped I've still got an almost complete surface covering of creamy white foam. The lacing is decent as well. In the mouth it's medium bodied and quite smooth and creamy. I don't know that a lot of people will be able to find the subtle spicy and herbal notes that make it so unique to me, but I certainly think that they'll notice how remarkably drinkable it is. It's sad that so many pale ales have been overshadowed by IPAs and this is a great example of why that shouldn't be the case.

This is a really wonderful piney hopped pale ale. Very West Coast. Excellent brew.

Taster at brewery. Pale golden pour, cloudy, ring of white head. Light malty aroma, biscuity, hoppy edge. Taste brings lemon zest, bready malts, crisp finish.

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1 inch head. Smell is bursting with citrus. Taste is also full of citrus, malts are present, smooth and very easy drinking. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer.
