16 oz can from Sierranevallagash poured into Snowman chalice. No can date.
Pale hazy yellow gold with a fluffy head of 2 fingers, receding eventually to 1.
Stiff woody aromas, slight pine sap, lemon, and sulfur/farts.
Flavor, excuse the description, is very one-dimensional. Lemon pith and stiff wood. Slight pine and soap. Finish of grapefruit pith, grass, and soap suds.
Feel is resiny and creamy, with slight resins on the finish and a buzzing carbonation.
Overall, I've found Ekuanot does best with a buddy, and with the added sweetness of Golden Promise malt. Unsure of their malt base here. Definitely a sipper due to the harsh bitterness. If you're curious about the Ekuanot hop on its own, this is a good place to start.

16oz can dated 3/30/17. Single hop Ekuanot version.
Pours clear light gold with a mild haze. Average head and retention. Aromatics lead off with pineapple skin, pear, and grapefruit pith. A little funky and grassy. Medium bodied with a crisp mouthfeel. Shades of pears and melons on the palate. Finishes with some honey-laced malt, a firm bitterness, and lingering citrus.
Tasty beer but more hops would be nice.

From 16 oz can, dated 3/30/17. This one is marked as using Exuanot hops - I assume the hop variety rotates over time.
Pours gold with orange tinting, very thin head and spotty lacing - a little anemic in this department. Moderate fruity tropical aroma. Flavor is also thin, meaning nearly no malt comes through except for a solid background of sweetness. Low bitterness and low carbonation. Actually the feel of the beer is a little smooth and pleasant - maybe the best quality of it for me. This is a sweet beer but all the flavor is imparted by the hops, which is very fruity. Not bad but not subtle either. I don't know if Exuanot is responsible for it but I assume they were trying to augment the hops with sweetness and just went overboard.
I visited Lone Pine a few months ago and was not terribly impressed with their selections. They are all over the board and don't seem to have mastered any one type. This beer feeds into that perception.
