A: Pours a golden orange color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap

S: Grapefruit, citrus, a bit of sweet maltiness, some lighter dank and earthy notes

T: Starts off with a wave of grapefruit and citrus and then slowly picks up the dank and earthy notes. Light bready malt sweetness. Finishes with lingering grapefruit

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: A solid iteration of Tess. Grapefruit really makes an impact. Remains quite drinkable for an 8% brew. Check it out

L - pours an oddly clear crystal gold, but with a billion floaty particulates. Actually pretty neat to spin the glass and watch them stay put in suspension.

S - deeply lemony. Candied lime, bready onions, and pure mosaic goodness.

T - harsh, rindy grapefruit peel bitterness. Softened a bit by mosaic candy syrupiness, but herbal all around. A bit of yeasty electricity accents notes of lightly tart passionfruit and lemon. Finish is dry and grassy.

F - I can feel these particulates. Thick and mealy, loaded with sticky hop residue. Clings to the throat on the way down. Tingly.

O - digs deep in dank territory with biting rindiness. On the harsher side of the mosaic hop, but appreciated. Packed with more than enough heft and sugariness to balance, although I wouldn't exactly call the balance "smooth".

Pours hazy, gold in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is grapefruit and dried mango. Medium bodied and carbonation, bitter. Makes for a solid ipa. Could do again or pass.

Fighting off the effects of scurvy one beer at a time, the Lone Pine brewers roll out their tried and true Tessellation, but this time with the unmistakable overlay of grapefruit for to take the tropical flavored beer to new citrusy heights.

Grapefruit Tessellation pours with a deep golden, light amber hue and cast in a common IPA haze. Its sturdy, ivory froth projects a radiant perfume of dark berries, orchard fruit, tropical and citrus that certainly has that grapefruit dominance early and often. Toasty sweet, lightly nutty and fueled with honey and caramel, the malt influence greets the early palate with a graham cracker-like roundness.

The Mosaic hops blossom on the middle palate, especially once the sweetness dissipates. Passionfruit, lemon, nectarine, mango and pineapple swoon the tastebuds with a juicy, radiant and ripe fruit display. Its grapefruit additions provide a citrus loaded flavor with pink and red varieties carrying a tart and bitter character into a botanical late palate. A growing bitterness leads to a peppery, grassy and herbaceous finish with the taste of blackcurrant, black tea and peppercorn looming.

Medium full on the palate, the beer trends malty dry, and lighter from the hop resins, alcohol and fruit pectins that assist in a snappy, refreshing, gin-like spice. A bitter aftertaste lingers with chive, hemp and tropical fruit rinds nearly into the next sip.
