3rd review. 3rd from brewer. Great job on a light summer stout.
1) This could be my year-round stout and it's great to make black and tans.
a) Active tan head over dark cola body, fizzy.
s) Plenty in a session beer (Keep in mind Guinness is also 4.5% and low cal) espresso, lemon twist, smoke, wood, peat.
t) Follows smell, adds cocoa, pine, and becomes nicely bitter hoppy with pine in finale.
o) Feel is smooth but light. Buy a case.

Pours opaque, dark brown in color with one inch head. Taste is dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and pine. Light bodied, moderate carbonation and bitter. Makes for a slightly above average stout. Clean, solid, but I have had better.

Poured on draft at the brewery.
Pours a dark cola brown with a finger of off-white head. Leaves good lacing before settling into a thin ring.
The aroma is full of dark roast malts and dark chocolate. Very subtle and muted.
The flavor brings dark malts, chocolate, sweet cream, and a strong wave of hops on the finish. Notes of citrus and pine.
The feel is medium light with moderate carbonation. Soft and creamy with a dry finish.
Overall, a decent stout that honestly drinks more like a black IPA. The hops are quite pronounced while the malt sits in the passenger seat. Not bad, but not something I'd really try again.
