these beers are so thick and dense, kind of a one and done thing, but nobody who likes hoppy beer can deny they all taste delicious, and that this one might even contribute something new to what we know about mosaic, which is now such a been there done that aroma and flavor profile most of the time that beers that rely on it taste kind of generic. man how things have changed in ten years! but this manages to bring more out of it, maybe a thiol thing, not sure, but it pops, its fresh, and it has crazy fruitiness way past pineapple to things like passion fruit, mango, guava, and white grape, more up front intensity than i normally get from mosaic too, perhaps some cryo hops here doing that. the flavor is as good as the nose, and i pick up more as it warms, purple grape candy, heady sativa, meyer lemon, even weird like dried goji berry or something, wildly complex for mosaic. its frothy and lively and holds a head from the can, but even the brisk carbonation doesnt lighten it enough, more starchy and filling than it needs to be unfortunately, but i do like the dry earthy pale barley malt flavor this is built upon, and i appreciate it trending dry late. the ferment is mostly clean, and the alcohol really isnt a problem here. if the whole thing could be a touch lighter, itd be awesome, because the expression of mosaic here overall is first rate, almost to the point it seems over saturated in other beers, it pushes right through that intensity in this without ever getting green or hot or harsh, from that perspective this is excellent, but i still dont really want any more of this...

Pretty fun to find these locally every once in while here in Idaho; original Oh-J is one of my favorite NEIPA's, the El Dorado DDH version wasn't one of my favorites though, and this one reminded me of the same feeling. Bright hazy pour from a 16oz can, straight fruit juice in the glass, fruity and resiny notes with some minor dankness, citrus fruit as well as papaya and earthiness. Just good, not great (to me).

Canned on: 06-03-22

A - Hazy dark orange gold with frothy white lacing and lots of floaties suspended in the beer.

S - Citrus, papaya, earthy, a slight bit of bubble gum, and a trace of grain malt.

T - Blueberry, some citrus, papaya, earthy spiciness, a little bit of tangerine, and juicy floral while ending on the sweeter side with residual spicy citrus rind and blueberry with low bitterness and lingering tangerine. The ABV is completely well hidden in this beer.

M - Big, chewy body that's viscous, and leaves some sugar residue on the lips.

O - A really enjoyable D-IPA that's worth checking out.

Poured into a 13 oz Teku glass canned on 7/20/21. Pours a hazy yellow orange with a 2 finger sticky white head that leaves thick streaks of lace with excellent retention. 4.5

Aroma is papaya, pineapple, tangerine, cantaloupe, and apricot. 4.5

Taste follows papaya, pineapple, tangerine, cantaloupe, and apricot really well balanced and tasty. 4.5

Mouthfeel is bigger than average, soft gentle carbonation, not sticky or dry, and at 8.1% ABV really easy going down. 4.5

Overall this is another nice version in this series. I highly recommend this one. 4.5
