Brewed with Citra, Ella, and El Dorado hops, this New England IPA offers refreshing flavors of grapefruit, lemon peel, lush pineapple, and a subtle mingling pepper against a soft pine bitterness. Moderately soft on the mouth with a medium roundness and delicate dryness, Neon Balloon Dog will tie your tongue with its golden haziness.

The first pour to empty a pint can into a clear glass liter mug went so well, it was an easy decision to begin a second, until the vessel was full. Since the white head was modest, most of the second can fit in, as well. That's a good sign that this is not overly starched with wheat. The aroma whiffs of vague hops, probably muted by oats. The color is a dull golden amber that's very opaque, but not murky. There's nothing bold to taste and now the reason the nose only got a vague hoppy reference is because that is all there is. This is very soft on the palate and that's it's best attribute, since that softness doesn't come at the expense of its body. But, even for a New England India Pale Ale, this is a little too light in its hop delivery. Whatever is there is muted by whatever grain, likely oats, until the far end of the finish. Overall, this is a pleasant, but bland beer drinking experience. There may be a place for it, but not for hop lovers.

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a hazy, bright yellow color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is bursting with grapefruit, pineapple is present. Taste is the same as the aroma, juicy, hints of pine, mild bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a good quality beer.
