Taster at brewery. Pale golden, cloudy, wispy head. Fruity, floral aroma. Taste introduces light toffee malts, resiny hops, fruity notes, sticky, mouth coating.

It's just not attractive to have a foamy explosion on top of a freshly poured out pint can. Even in a clear glass liter mug, these things look ugly. Unfortunately, as more brews use wheat and other starches to haze and soften, this sort of thing is becoming predictable. The foam will recede unevenly and become even less inviting. The underlying beer is a dirty straw color that's dense and dull. The aroma is a bit toward the sweet and earthy definition, sort of like freshly brewed tea, but earthier. This drinks even sweeter than expected until the finish, where the earthy hops give a bite. A little of that green tea aspect is actually there in the taste, within the sweetness of the starches and earthiness of the hopping. Also predictable is the near total absence of glass lacing. The starches at least provide a decent mouthfeel, but not a complex counterbalance for the hops. It's been said before, more barley malt wouldn't have hurt this beer. The ABV is a tasteful inclusion, marginally noticeable, but a contribution rather than a distraction in the taste. Sure, it's drinkable, but it's really not up to the expectations one justifiably may have from this brewery.

A: Pours a hazy golden yellow color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap that leaves decent lacing
S: Citrus and tropical fruit up front along with some lighter pine and resin. Very light floral notes
T: Follows the nose. Starts off with a mix of citrus, tropical fruit, floral notes, and some pine. Lightly bitter. Finishes with lingering citrus and tropical fruit
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Very soft
O: A solid double hopped IPA that nicely features both Citra and mosaic. Very easy to drink. Worth checking out
