i liked this on a number of levels. the first is that its my very first dip into pumpkin beer this season, and i managed to wait until october, which is hard these days since they come out in june or whatever, seasonal creep remains among the most frustrating happenings in craft beer, and there are many. i also like this being so low in alcohol, this is a style that has seemed to get stronger over the years, so i appreciate a version that i can have several pints of, even though i didnt, i could, and that still counts. its neat too that its made with real pumpkin and is spiced but carefully, it doesnt give up the pumpkin for the pie spice, and that is a fine line to talk, so this is really quite a nice beer on a number of levels. gorgeous deep reddish amber color from the tap, fairly clear and with over an inch of frothy and lasting just off white head. nose and taste of roasted pumpkin earthiness, a little caramelized grain sweetness, hints of toffee, raisin, and molasses along with dark bread there, and finally warming cinnamon and clove on the swallow, but also a little late bitterness for balance too, this isnt a runaway sugary brew as many of these are, and the pumpkin stays central, even coming out in front of the spice as this warms, which isnt how it usually goes. i also think i pick up a subtle yeast element to it, almost english, which keeps it more beery than a lot of them, a smart little recipe wrinkle, cant quite place that, but its well built and well layered beer beyond just the extra ingredients. soft textured and plenty full, but also really well carbonated and quite easy to drink, no long spice linger or anything, cozy enough without forcing it, really nice example of the style and one i hope to drink again this season!

Clear, darker amber color. The head is moderate and settles to a full surface film. Decent count of smaller spots are left on the glass.

Strong, spicy aroma with a distinctly licorice note. To a lesser degree, there's also the typical "pumpkin pie" smells of cinnamon, all spice, and light ginger.

The flavor features many of the smells but there's also a darker, biscuity malt base. The body and carbonation are pretty typical for a pumpkin ale. The finish has a non-hop bite that is mostly ginger.

It's not so much a "pumpkin spice ale," more a "pumpkin ale" if you get what I mean. The pumpkin notes are more subtle and veggie-ish (think squash/yams, or... uhh... actual pumpkins) than "pumpkin spice." Some people will find that ideal but for me it doesn't quite hit the target I have in mind when I'm buying a gimmicky beer like this. It's decent though.

abv is way too low.

16oz can poured into a goblet

A- pours a deep amber color with a one-finger foamy off-white head that has good retention

S- cinnamon and nutmeg on the nose, with undertones of caramelized pumpkin & fruit cake

T- initially tastes like ginger cola with ginger leading the way. Mid-palate gives some cinnamon and a hint of caramel sweetness. The finish gives more ginger with some bready malt on the linger

M- light body with medium carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that continues into a crisp finish

O- not like your traditional pumpkin beer, the ginger almost gives it a ginger/lime cola flavor that is very refreshing and drinkable

A very solid and apparently sessionable pumpkin beer...

Great looking beer - hazy, homemade look to it with a frothy head, little staying power. The smell was full-on pumpkin, but with a strange spice mixture added it. Mouthfeel is well carbonated, almost overly, but still with a creamy texture to it. The taste was light on hops, great on malt, and a distinct flavor of pumpkin. I like the fact it is sessionable, I could have pounded several at these, and even so, it was tasty...

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a burnt orange color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of pumpkin, light spices. Taste is pumpkin and spices, neither poor nor exceptional. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is your standard, run of the mill pumpkin beer.

The pour is yam colored. The taste is mild pumpkin, cinnamon, & mild cream soda finish. Overall, I agree with the spices being too boldly for the light body of this beer. Cheers! B-

Drank straight out the can at a buccaneers tailgate in Tampa. This is a great fall tailgate beer. It’s light, crisp, refreshing & has low abv. The aroma of harvest spice is pungent & pleasing on this beer. Slightly hoppy and piney. Would buy again. B rating.

Pours a lovely burnt orange with a finger of head. There's a hint of squash and cinnamon on the nose. The flavor is pretty flat. The spices, especially the cinnamon, are too much for the thin body.
