Lone Pine Brewing Company

Nice example of an unpasteurized NE IPA. Unfiltered as well. Pours a hazy golden yellow with large foam head that reduces to strong lacing and finger down the side as you drink it. Fragrances of tropical fruit, bubble gum, and pine tree needles. Taste leans towards very wet mouthfeel and big juicy aromatics. Lots of orange juice, mango, guava, star fruit, and tropical juice flavors. Some pine underpinnings to add subtle bitterness as well as a rounded mouthfeel. Carbonation level is good but not incredibly overactive. Lots of hanging bubbles. Slight bitter grapefruit and pine tree aftertaste. Wet soft notes making for lingering aftertaste. This is definitely not a West Coast style and reveals its big juicy New England roots. It's a bit muted compared to some other "bigger" NE IPAs but I do like the high drinkability and crushable taste. Good summer beer. 4 out of 5. Pretty good.

 

Generic NEIPA, well maybe it's got a tiny bit of a minty/piney "American IPA" thing going on, but really tiny. It's mainly focused on citrus with some floral notes. Close to 0 bitterness. Drinkable but not what I was after.
