Had on tap. Cloudy orangey yellow with a billowing white head with plenty of lacing all around. Big wheat and lemon nose with supporting flowers. Taste adds bubblegum, slight minerals. Feel is light and playful, bright and wheat backed. A more playful summer wheat than full on hefewiezen, so hits the spot as a summer seasonal. Paired great with wurst

In a summer day in sunny Luzern there was no better choice than to sit outside the rathaus brauerei while enjoying a pint of the most season-coherent offering: the rathaus weizen.
The beer pours a straw pale but opaque tone, with a slight cloudiness provided by the yeast. the head sits in a creamy although a bit thin fashion with a medium to good retention.
The smell turns out a bit unimpressive with some ranges of wheat and yeast, and a citrus sensation. not much more to say.
The taste was also too mild for me likes, the citrus prevailing although allowing the wheaty taste through at the end, and of course the yeasty banana feel of the weizen permanently. too weak, though.
The mouthfeel is appropriate for the moment, because I was in search for a refreshing weizen and the medium yet well carbonated body here proved to be a fine thirst quencher.
Unamazing, but worthwhile.
