This immensely crushable pale is brewed with some of our favourite fruit-forward hops. Bright aromas of pink grapefruit, mango and orange rind follow through into the flavour that ends with a piney and zippy bitterness.

Unfined, unfiltered, unpasteurised natural beer. Suitable for vegans.

Preface - this can was leaking slightly from under the top seam. Presumably caused by refermentation due to insufficient attenuation; not sure what impact this has had on the character of the contents.

A 330ml can with a BB of March 2018; canned Sept 2017. Acquired a little while back from a webshop. The label describes it as an unfiltered American pale ale hopped with Centennial, Citra and Mosaic.

A: Poured into a tulip. Can-conditioned. A very hazy golden colour with tons of suspended sediment and very low carbonation. Virtually no head - a sliver of foam forms immediately after pouring but disappears almost instantly.

S: Aroma of bright fruity hops with hints of mango, tropical fruit, citrus, peel, white grape, grass/hay, earthy yeast and pale malt. Rather good; doesn't seem to have suffered oxygen ingress.

T: Tastes of intensely fruity aromatic hops with notes of grapefruit, citrus, peel, tropical fruit, grass/hay, mild pine resin, earthy yeast, pale malt and stewed hops. Pretty dry, with a strident hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth but essentially flat. Dry, with some tingly hop oils and mild astringency. Aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, citrus, tropical fruit, pine and earthy yeast.

O: Actually very decent. Subpar looks, however the aroma and flavour are great with plenty of fruity hops underpinned by yeast and pale malt. So-so body; lacks texture. Drinkable, but I've scored it down due to the flaws created by the failure of the can. Had there not been QC issues I can imagine this being a fantastic brew. Worth sampling - just check the can before you buy.

CAN
Clingy, puffy white over hazy dirty blonde. 4
Lemon verbena, melon and a touch of dank. 3.75
Slight cracker, tart orange, resin, underripe mango, and a twiggy end. 3.75
Halfway medium, clingy, oily. 4

Centennial, Citra, Mosaic

Good news is they do only 6 months BBD; bad news this is just 3 weeks away from that. As you’d expect, any delicate Mosaic notes are gone, leaving underwritten tart citrus + jagged pine. It does punch above its weight for a 4.2%, but I’ve yet to see anything above average from this brewery. 3.75
