440 ml can, Southville Deli, Bristol - Pours hazy golden with a medium white foamy head. Lovely lacing. Medium carbonation. Aroma - Sweet citrus forefront - orange marmalade, grapefruit, tropicals - pineapple, light dank notes. Taste - Sweet citrus hoppy front - orange marmalade/grapefruit, light dank middle, crisp, light bitter finish. Personally this was great. Had a lovely restrained dankness on the aroma which remained on the mouthfeel. Maybe a little rough around the edges for some but one of the best local IPA's for me. Will definitely check this out again.

A 330ml can with a BB of Feb 2018. Purchased recently from Costcutter. Described on the label as an unfiltered IPA brewed with American hops. Hopped with Summit, Citra and Chinook.

A: Poured into an IPA glass. Can-conditioned. A deep, very hazy amber colour with tons of suspended sediment and moderate carbonation. Yields a massive head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before reducing to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.

S: Aroma of resinous hops with hints of pine, dank weed, citrus peel, subtle marmalade, leafiness, caramel malt, ale yeast and faint earthiness. Satisfyingly hoppy - very nice.

T: Tastes of bitter aromatic hops with notes of pine resin, dank weed, grapefruit, citrus peel, leafiness, caramel malt, ale yeast, earthiness and stewed hops. Slightly sweet, followed by a powerful hop-driven bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with soft carbonation and good body. Could be a shade livelier. Lightly astringent; hop oils stimulate the palate. Aftertaste of pine resin, weed, citrus, bitterness, caramel malt and ale yeast.

O: Good stuff - a hoppy IPA that packs a punch. Looks alright (though seriously hazy), while the aroma and flavour are bursting with pine resin, weed, citrus peel, caramel malt and yeast. Decent body; more carbonation needed. Lots of resin but nice balance too - the sweetness evens out the bitterness somewhat. Goes down a treat. Well worth sampling if you like hops.

Summit, Citra, Chinook

Can copy says "drippy sweet tangerines, gentle dank, and pineapple" which is, respectively, Summit, Chinook, and... Citra? But I've never heard pineapples for Citra. It goes on to mention soft mouthfeel, drinkability, low IBUs, and mango, so they're selling a NEIPA but using old skool Cali hops. And so it goes: Aug.16 packaging date - so, 4.5 months old - does no favours, leaving a certain toned down inside-of-a-bong stickiness with slight citrus. Sure doesn't read like a good brewery's flagship IPA.

Lots of UK breweries claim West Coast cred and make a juice bomb; this one, oddly, does it the other way around. 3.75
