Dropped in on this place for the first time and wasn't sure what to expect, but definitely wasn't expecting greatness...but the pils was actually really satisfying and tasty. On tap at the brewery, served in a shaker (which didn't seem right). Dull gold, constant bubbles, thin crown of white head with very little retention. Nose is a nice round apple/earthy/grassy bitterness and a whole lot of pilsner malt, fairly bready, and fairly promising. Taste takes what is in the nose and really brings it out. Not aggressively bitter, but very pleasantly so. Nice sweet fruity and crackery notes, and then some earthy and grassy hops. Their description promises spiciness, but I don't really get that except a little on the finish. Mouthful is very crisp, and almost zesty...body is fairly substantial but still has a light feel. I'm pleasantly surprised. I'd be happy to drink this again. Guess I'll have to go back and try some others...
