.5L emptied into a Pokal.

A: Pours gold with a 2-finger white head which receeds to a thick ring. Some lacing in the upper third of the glass.

S: Bready malt with a hint of hops.

M: Light bodied with surprisingly good carbonation.

T: Sweet pale malt with a moderate dash of hops. Slightly grainy overall. Thin on flavor throughout. Dry finish with a lightly bitter aftertaste.

D: Not as terrible as I imagined. It has more flavor than some macro lagers, but please don't confuse that for praise. This is not something to pine after.

Found in a Vienna supermarket, the standard brown half liter bottle features a white, red and gold label featuring lots of empty space along with the name oriented vertically along the right side. Ingredients conform to the purity law. Best before 6/16/07, I opened it on 11/21/06.

Pours a clear almost white gold under a 1.5 finger white head that fades quite quickly but manages to leave a few spots of lace. The nose is very mild, with some malt and an adjunct impression (corn?). The mouth is extremely light and excessively prickly. The taste is thin, lacking in malt but showing a bit of dry hoppy bitter. The opening is very watery, albeit prickly enough to be carbonated mineral water. The hops kick in at the finish, and are certainly not strong, but emerge nonetheless because there is nothing else there to hide them. It's drinkable, but certainly not satisfying.
