My latest catch at Aldis. Thought this is something new, found out they have been making this under a different name (Karlskrone) before… (also found out that it is the same company, Egger, who is brewing for both Aldi and Lidl.
Okay now this one was quite a (golden) buzzer. I had beers heavier than 7.2% ABV but it kind of knocked me out this time.
The beer is all good, has a good balance of hoppiness and malt sweetness - at least as long as it is cold. Once it warms a bit it got a little too sweet for me. Not much booziness there to be honest although my wife said it tastes like whiskey.
Altogether I liked this beer, might even buy it again because it’s dirt cheap.
