So check this out, like a good mixtape, it'll put you in the right mood. We brewed a classic Bohemian Pilsner with Czech and German ingredients and a traditional cold lagering process. We won't change up this style to fit in, it's perfectly balanced between dry, crackery malt, and sharp Saaz hops with more spice than the Frugal Gourmet. This beer is a tribute to those who come correct, and even in the next millennium, it'll still be old school.

I shared a tall boy can of this beer at my good friend's summer home in Eden, Utah whilst there visiting old friends after touring Idaho State with my daughter. It poured a clear golden with thin off white ring head that is leaving some lace. The scent had subtle grain notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with crisp malt base with subtle grain presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

On tap at Mountains Brew Fest. Pale golden pour, clear, small frothy white head. Grainy aroma, grassy. Taste follows with a clean biscuity profile closing out with a nice crisp bite.

Pours a clear, golden copper in color with minimal head and lacing. Carbonation looks average. Maybe a tad darker than expected.

Aroma is not what I expected. Crackers malts, earthy, even a little dank. There's some sourness in there that reminds me a bit of vomit -- perhaps fermented corn.

I will start by saying the taste is not bad, but not what I would expect from a Czech style Pilsner. The malts are more toasty or crackery, not as much sweet corn. The hops are more spot on, typical Saaz notes of lemon and grass. A bit of lime in there as well. There is some spiciness on the swallow and a touch of alcohol.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied, which is strange for the style, more like an imperial Pils. Zesty carbonation and smooth on the swallow with ample body, maybe even a tad syrupy. I do like the mouthfeel even though it's off for the style.

This was an interesting one. On the whole, I don't really care for the malt profile, but otherwise this is a pretty solid beer, albeit not what I would consider a Czech style Pilsner -- maybe an Imperial Czech Pilsner, but even that is a bit of a stretch. Still, it's not bad and at 6% ABV (as stated on the can) is plenty drinkable.

I gave this a 3.25 overall due to style mismatch, but it's probably closer to a 3.5 otherwise.

Feel harsh rating this beer so low, but this is not what a pils ought to taste like. There’s an unbalanced malt characteristic that while crackery, as the label describes, isn’t adequately tempered by the hops. Furthermore, it seems almost syrupy, rather than light and refreshing as a pils ought to be; good perhaps for an American pale, ipa, or even dipa, but not a pils. For cleaner representations in the states, see pFriem in Oregon or Bierstadt in Colorado

Bomber. Pours clear gold with a large white head that settles quickly. Aroma is floral hops. Taste is malt with a slightly bitter finish. Nice Saaz hop aftertaste. Decent pilsener.

a crisp and light and refreshing pilsener beer, classically styled, easy drinking, and very well made, one of the better beers in this style i had on my recent trip to utah. the grain is light and crackery, slightly doughy and european, but fresher than the imports ever taste to me, and the lager yeast blends in well here in the flavor, old worldy but fresh. its golden and super pale, see through, and with a short but lasting white head on it, very well carbonated. the hops have a light botanical note to them, kind of standing alone in the finish that is so fast and dry, like the come on at and even after the swallow the most, light pine, lime, and straw, clean though, and only moderately dosed. i get some slate type minerals there as well, even a flash of olive or something, but its all very clean and tidy overall, flavorful and fresh, and they got the texture right as well. i had not heard of these guys before this trip, they must be relatively new to the scene, but i enjoyed the handful of their beers that i had. pretty textbook pils here.

edit: very cool to see these guys canning, a better format for this beer in particular, and its still delicious. i like the aesthetic on the labels and i think this is one of the better pils types in the area overall. very traditional, crisp, refreshing, and drinkable. the cans are a great call!
