No canning date
Purchased from the brewery last week.
Poured at fridge temp into a willi glass (recommended was a stange, but this is the best I got) at fridge temp
Pours a fairly pale mango yellow- very cloudy, nearly opaque- with a very aggressive beige/khaki head that settled pretty quickly. 3.75
Guava, but mostly passion fruit sweetness on the nose. Only the tiniest hint of tartness. 3.75
Initially salty (a pleasant plus) followed by sharp tropical fruitiness. No sign of coriander, but that's likely just me. 4
Very juicy, and mild carbo body that nears a dry finish. 4
Overall a delicious tasting and feeling summer quencher I'll certainly be back for. 4

This was yet another beer that I picked up in Downtown Salt Lake City when I was out that way not too long ago. Of course, I was drawn in by the can but hoped that the liquid inside of it would also be alluring and indeed, that was the case. I certainly enjoyed this beer and thought that it was worthy of a higher rating than it had on here!
Of course, I was drawn in by the Miami Vice-esque label as it led me to believe that this would be tropical and bright in nature. To some extent, it was starting with the pour. That was golden, hazy, and topped off with plenty of head as it settled somewhat quickly. No lacing was left behind once the foam receded the aroma compensated for this mild letdown. Lots of salt, sour patch kids, lime and citrus pith, and filling malt was in the nose as the taste closely followed suit. Stone fruit, guava, pineapple juice, passion fruit and sour mix filled my palate as the wheat and salt were enough to drown out most of the fruit that I expected to feel in this.
This was a true session beer between the amount of alcohol in it and the carbonation - which was spot-on. Couldn't read the date on the bottom of the can but no matter - this held up well over the last 3-4 months (minimum) as I'd reach for it again if I was out that way in the near future. Lots to like here for those who appreciate a nuanced, funky, and authentic Gose!

Pours a dull golden color with plenty of head that settled quickly.
Smell: Definitely smell the passion fruit and guava. Also hints of other tropical fruits, some pineapple, and some nice floral aromas as well. Not getting much salt on the smell.
Taste: Fairly sour taste with passion fruit and guava. Not getting much else in the taste. There are hints of salt but they’re not doing much for the beer.
Feel: Even for a sour this is a bit thin for my taste. Takes away the flavor profile away a bit. Not a bad beer by any means, but not as full and balanced as I’d prefer.

Bottle. Pours a pale clear yellow colour. Aromas of salted preserved lemons, a bit of funk, and sweet tropical juice notes. Overall, this one tasted quite salted upfront. Favour profile was light and bright with a touch of dryness on the close. The predominant flavour profile is mild salted preserved lemons with a moderate funkness, a fresh guava body, with a touch of tartness but not much. Seemed too salty for what it was but still tasty overall. Clean finish.Carbonation is mild. Didn't pick up too much of the coriander though.

Can from the brewery...big mistake. The bartender asked me if I was familiar with the "goss" style to which I replied, yes, because yes I am quite familiar with the style. But this...this was a horredous mess of a beer, and I don't know how people actually buy it. Maybe I got a bad can or something, but, well, I'll just say, as a Jersey boy, I know what the salt marshes smell like, and after having this "beer," now I know what the salt marshes taste like too. Yes, I know, goses are brewed with salt, but there's a subtlety involved. This literally tasted like it was made from unfiltered brine dredged from the Great Salt Lake. And let's talk about the smell. As soon as I took a whiff, I actually thought I was going to vomit. It was so nauseatingly sulfurous and swampy. I looked at the 16 ounce glass in front of me and was filled with dread and regret. But you know what, I held my breath and started gulping it down. And I actually did hold my breath, it was that hard to drink. And I know there must have actually been something wrong with the beer, because actually after about 5 or 10 minutes, I reopened my nostrils and surprisingly, the foul aroma had flashed off and the beer was somewhat palatable. Either that or my sense of smell and taste were permanently damaged. Whatever the case, I finished the whole grody glass and went on my merry way. There are a lot of things a gose can be, but this was not a gose. It was an unholy nightmare that would make Poseidon himself weep.

a very tasty sour here, built half like a gose and half like a belgian with, with the coriander in there and all the wheat, its tropical and fresh and really pretty darn good. passion fruit is a cool add here, bringing something new and flavorful to what otherwise would be a pretty faithfully authentic old worldy brew. lightly orange in the glass and quite hazy, with a tall white head and a little bit of sediment towards the bottom of the bottle. smells tangy from both the lacto souring and the passion fruit, summery though too, and i get the briny salt in there too, very appealing, lightly floral, earthy with the wheat, and lemony in the sour profile. the flavor is juicy passion fruit, nicely dosed. and the souring is really quite professional, clean and not flavorless, resonating well with the passion fruit. the salt highlights it all, i get orange and lime notes pulled up by it too. lots of fresh fluffy wheat, and a tasteful amount of a toasted sort of coriander. really nice proportions on this, and overall a beer i could have done several glasses of if we werent sharing. i was impressed with proper, ill be on the hunt for more of them next time in utah. one of the better fruited goses i have had of late...
